Writing
Practical writing about web systems, from what I learned building them. Not news — what I put down here should still hold in a few years, or I update it. If you build things yourself, the Workshop is the closer fit.
Four topics have their own, longer page. These aren't articles among the others — they are the starting points: each one takes the question from end to end, and leads on to the pieces below.
- Why does a website break if nobody touches it? — what degrades on its own, what maintenance means in practice, and when a monthly retainer is worth it.
- When does a business outgrow manual work? — where the line is, past which repetitive work belongs to a machine — and where it doesn't.
- What does ChatGPT say when someone asks about your business? — what changed in search, and what a small business can do about it.
- What does Google Ads cost, and when is it worth it? — what drives the cost, what the site needs first, and when not to start at all.
Below them, the shorter pieces, one question each:
- How long does a website take to build? — how much time passes, how much of it is work, and what never shows on the finished site. 10 August 2026
- What is a quote made of? — what it itemises, what usually goes missing from one, and what to ask. 10 August 2026
- When is an AI-built site enough? — how far a site builder takes you, and where the work that cannot be clicked together begins. 10 August 2026
- What happens to a website if nobody touches it for a year? — a neglected site doesn't stand still, it degrades. What breaks visibly, what breaks quietly, and what genuinely needs no upkeep at all. 30 July 2026
- What ChatGPT says about your business — and where it gets it — how to ask, where the answer comes from, and what to do when it's wrong. 30 July 2026
- Who is your website tied to? — six questions you can run on your own site: domain, credentials, exportability, and what remains when it ends. 30 July 2026
- What does a maintenance retainer actually cover? — what's in it, what isn't, and when it isn't worth having at all. 30 July 2026
- E-mail authentication for a small business: SPF, DKIM and DMARC — why company mail lands in spam, how fake invoices get sent in your name, and what three DNS records do about it. 22 July 2026
- Paid Telegram access: joining, expiry and removal in practice — granting access is easy, taking it back needs a system: the full lifecycle from invite to returning member. 22 July 2026
- Telegram Stars or a custom system? — Telegram has subscriptions built in. When that is enough, and when custom payments are needed — invoicing, tiers, connecting systems. 11 August 2026
- Stripe subscriptions and automated local invoicing — how an invoice gets issued after every successful charge: webhooks, signature checks, duplicate events. 22 July 2026
Every article here also exists in Hungarian, and every Hungarian one in English — the language switch in the sidebar leads to the same piece. If you build things yourself, the Workshop is the closer fit.
